The Seventh Prism

The Seventh Prism: Achieving High Performance Through Work/Life Integration

by Neil M. Yeager, Ed.D.

This hardcover book, published in August 2008 introduces The Seventh Prism framework for Work/Life Integration. This is Neil Yeager’s seventh book and represents the culmination of thirty years of work in the areas of career and organization development. The framework consists of six “Foundation Prisms” and provides readers with an overview of the Thirty-six Facets of their lives, encompassing all the variables one needs to consider in order to live the fullest, most satisfying, most productive, and most integrated lives.

The premise of the book is that the key to increased individual and organizational productivity and performance is the capacity for organizational leaders to build and sustain integrated lives for themselves and to promote employees’ capacity to do the same.

The Seventh Prism:
A Holistic, Whole Person Approach to Leadership Development

The Seventh Prism is a leadership methodology/framework developed by Charter Oak partner, Neil Yeager that is the result of thirty years of work coaching, training, and consulting with leaders of many Fortune 500 companies as well as public sector organizations including the U.S. Navy.

Based on his seventh book, The Seventh Prism: A Framework for Achieving High Performance Through Work/Life Integration, this methodology offers people an opportunity to examine all of the facets of their lives and determine which they need to maintain, which they need to renew, and which they need to transform in order to live a more fulfilling and engaging life—both inside and outside of the workplace. Through a systematic process, those experiencing the Seventh Prism approach assess their current work/life situation and create concrete action plans leading to higher levels of performance and satisfaction.

The book and the methodology are based on the premise that the key to increased individual and organizational productivity and performance is the capacity for organizational leaders to build and sustain integrated lives for themselves and promote employees’ capacity to do the same.

The Seventh Prism offers a variety of “delivery vehicles” for leaders seeking to learn the methodology and bring it into their organizations, including:

• Four-day executive retreats on the Seventh Prism designer’s twenty-one acre farm in western Massachusetts;
• Two-day in-house courses: The Fully Engaged Leader, Managing Self and Others, based on the Seventh Prism framework
• Four-day train-the-trainer licensing program for internal training/consulting practitioners enabling them to teach the two-day course in house. License includes complete power points and facilitator guide.
• One-on-one Executive Coaching utilizing the Seventh Prism framework .
